Meet Jeremy JF Thompson

Jeremy JF Thompson (he/they) is the polyamorous pansexual nonbinary co-founder of Queer Northshore and a board member of the St. Tammany Library Alliance. They also have some kind of regular job they get paid for 🤷 but more importantly, Jeremy, is my best friend. Here are some fun facts you probably don’t know about them:

They have a Master’s Degree in Experimental Poetics because they hate making money

They used to be a go-go dancer and a drag performer 

They started the first Daiquiri Festival in the United States

They lived all over the world as the child of a missionary  

At one point in their life they owned over 40 pairs of shoes, a fact that they seem slightly embarrassed about. 

They are a pretty damn good cook

Jeremy has been on the northshore for the past two years and in Louisiana for thirteen. They spend a significant portion of their time planning events for QNS and more recently managing the website and ads for the St. Tammany Alliance. Its not unusual for Jeremy to spend 4 hours a day volunteering their time in this capacity. For fun they enjoy playing video games, making music, skating, hiking and dancing. Jeremy is my best friend because they are low-key brilliant, have an amazing sense of humor, give really good back rubs and put up with my bullshit. Find Jeremy at library board meetings fighting bigotry, most Queer Northshore events, tearing up a Nola dance floor or passed out on someone’s couch because they have a two-hour social battery. 

Thanks for being my bestie and for creating this awesome group and spending one bazillion hours combating censorship pro-bono. You’re the yin to my yang, the Bonnie to my Clyde, and other things that go well in pairs. I lurves. ❤️
