Martie (She/her) is a lesbian from New Orleans who moved to the Northshore 5 years ago to be with her wife. She is a massage therapist who specializes in working with special populations including people with disabilities, pregnant women and children with autism. Some kids with autism have sensory issues but Martie has trained her dachshunds to help with that by teaching the children to “massage” the dogs while she massages them. Her super helpful pups also assist clients with anxiety by lying on them (her clients find the weight and compression of the dogs relaxing). Martie decided to become a massage therapist because she likes figuring out where her clients' pain (both physical and emotional) is in order to help alleviate it. Besides her work and pups, her other passions include hiking, camping, kayaking and painting and her very first art show will be in March at the Rutland Street Gallery! She’s also a talented writer and has her own Facebook blog called “Dog Gone Tourist.” Finally, it's definitely worth mentioning that Martie dated her wife in high school and then reconnected 30 years later before marrying in 2018! Martie says the best thing about her wife is her compassion. “She is a pediatric ER nurse… I love that she saves kids.” (cue the awwwwws) ❤️❤️❤️.
Martie has her own business so if you need a massage consider patronizing hers. She’s got all five star reviews on google!
