Meet Marc Settembrino

Marc Settembrino (any pronoun), is a queer non-binary Associate Professor of Sociology and Humanities and the advisor for the Lavender Lions, Southeastern’s campus LGBTQIA+ group, but you might know them as the fabulous Tuffy Love, the drag queen with the trademark purple hair who has performed at Oz, the Allways Lounge, and the Hideaway. Marc really loves drag and is learning how to sew, style wigs, and do make up! They also love Star Trek, gardening, pizza and spend most of their summers in the pool. Marc and their graduate students have been working with Queer Northshore to learn more about our LGBTQ community so that we can better understand your needs and desires so please be sure to thank them for their hard work. When asked what they love most about our queer community, Marc said “We're kind of like fire ants, you don't know we're here until you mess with one of us and then you've got to face us all” and I think that’s pretty fucking awesome.
