Let's get out to enjoy some more hiking while the weather is still oh so wonderful!
The details:
• Sunday, February 16th
• Bogue Chitto State Park in Franklinton
• Meet at the Equestrian Site parking area at 9am. We'll be on the trail by 9:30am. There are restrooms and a water fountain at this parking area.
• We'll hike the Gorge Run Trail, which is a gorgeous 4.8 mile loop trail. There are both stairs and some elevation change on this unpaved trail.
• Bring water, sunscreen, bug spray, and pack a lunch this time. We'll stop at some midpoint picnic tables to eat. There is a restroom with a water fountain at that midpoint.
• All ages are welcome, as are friendly, trail-loving dogs. Please let us know in the comments if you're bringing your pups!
• The park charges a $3/person day use fee.
Extra info:
The last time QNS did this trail as a group, it took us over 3 hours, including stopping for lunch. Please plan for the same.
This hike is a little more strenuous than those of previous months, but don't worry - we'll still maintain that leisurely pace with lots of time to stop and take photos!
If you plan on attending this event please RSVP with Sarah Cook at events@queernorthshore.org.
