It's getting a little warmer, but I think we have a couple months left to hike! 🤞
Let's meet up at the Boy Scout Road Trail in Lacombe on Sunday, March 23rd. The trailhead is on Boy Scout Road, just off Paquet Rd. (Don't go to the main Big Branch Marsh location in maps!) There are no restrooms or any facilities at the trailhead so plan ahead. We'll plan to meet starting around 9am to be on the trail by 9:30am.
This is a 5 mile in and out trail. The first 1/2 mile is a wooden boardwalk that is the most accessible part of the trail. The remaining 4 miles (2 miles out and 2 miles back) is unpaved with gravel in places. We'll start with the boardwalk if you'd like to join us for only that part.
The trail is dog and kid friendly. Please let folks know in the comments if you plan to bring your friendly pup. Depending on recent weather, it can get a little buggy so sunscreen and bugspray are both recommended for this one, as is water and shoes that are comfortable on gravel.
In case you can't find it on maps under the Boy Scout Road Trail, the GPS is 30.2840394, -89.9166192
